OK - so why hire furniture? What's that all about?

To some people, the whole concept of furniture hire is just, well a little peculiar!

I guess most people can understand the need to rent wedding chairs and tables, as they are unlikely to keep a stock of 200 gold banquet chairs in their garage, ready for when their son our daughter gets married, but given some of the rental stock we have in our warehouses, you might indeed wonder.

Some of our more popular rented pieces of furniture include our conference chairs for example. These are nicely finished, upholstered and cushioned seats, that stack nicely (up to fifteen high in fact), and are regularly required by our clients in numbers of anything from one or two, to a few thousand.

Now, they may be a big 'blue chip' kind of company, but if they have an AGM and need to seat let's say 1,200 people at that meeting, even though they're a big company they are still unlikely to keep a readily available quantity of stacking chairs that would satisfy a crowd that large! And if they did, would it really be worth it? The cost of space is at a premium in our warehouses, with the chairs stacked up, palletised and on racking, but I hate to think what it would come to each year to have enough space for a few thousand chairs if you had an office in the centre of London!

And of course it doesn't stop there. If you did decide that you wanted to throw a huge amount of money into storing your own furniture in your offices, you would need some skilled labour to get in it and out every time you have a meeting. Your paid staff would need to get them to the floor of the meeting, line them up in their row, un stack them, lay them out (secure them with cable ties if the health and safety in that premises specified it), then reverse the procedure when the meeting had finished. Of course this could be further embellished, but you can see where I'm coming from with this!

And let's face it, a nice, busy, large blue chip business in the City of London, may need a few hundred chairs for a meeting today, but tomorrow they may have a presentation and need some lecterns, trestle tables, table cloths, some soft seating for the stage (the stage!). And then next week, they may have director's form their global offices flying over for a VIP meeting, and all of a sudden they need a posh boardroom table to seat 20 guests, along with 20 suitable meeting chairs (perhaps something like our snazzy, contemporary Charles Eames chairs would do the job?).

And so all of a sudden, you have a requirement for a bit more than a store cupboard! You need a warehouse :-)

Garden & Outdoor Furniture HireThroughout the year, our outdoor garden furniture range is always very popular. It gives you a nice warm feeling when you look out in the warehouse and see empty shelves. In the furniture hire industry, that means your stock is out on hire! :-) And it's really no wonder, when you think that we have sofa sets, with lovely soft cushions, comprising of a sofa, two armchairs and a coffee table, and in the same range, matching day beds, sun loungers, swing chairs and hammocks!

If you were planning a corporate (or often it is private) garden party, can you imagine the delighted look on your guests faces when they arrive to see you have totally spoiled them with a complete array of alfresco furniture?

And we have these ranges in large quantities too. During the peak of the summer months we are sending outdoor furniture our to the likes of Royal Ascot, and the Jockey Club, and high profile VIP events all over London and the UK, that book up our stock months in advance to avoid disappointment. And they must be happy, because the keep coming back, year after year.

Another big area for us is our plush red carpets, with accompanying ropes and posts. These really do make such a big difference at your event, adding that little touch of spectacular va va voom!

And more recently, we have developed our range of red carpet hire to include blue carpet, and even black carpet. And the stanchions that go with it are now available in gold as well as chrome.

Locker HireThen there's our locker hire. Now that would take up a lot of room in the store cupboard! We have hundreds of personal lockers for hire, from individual single door lockers (your hat and coat kind of size) to double and three and four door lockers. Of course, all supplied with keys, and delivered wherever you need them.
